It always boggles my mind that scientists demand proof of the existence of God.
As if they could catch him out in some way, and prove that they were cleverer than he by doing so. I mean, as if an ultimate being could possibly be silly enough to be detected! As if the creator of everything would allow himself to be subject to absolute scrutiny!
And it's the same with fairies. I mean, what self respecting fairy would allow herself to be captured, knowing full well that it would mean having her wings pulled off for sure? So of course they hide, and, like God, they know every nook and cranny to hide in. I mean, they're fairies, for Chrissakes!
Yet the paradox is that the moment one allows oneself to witness God, he reveals himself.
Where the scientists have it so wrong is that they try too hard, that's all.
And perhaps they do that because they don't really want to see, in actual fact.
After all, who really wants to know that their ego is a sham?
Apologies, as ever, to those who prefer terms other than "God". But you know what I mean, eh?
Interestingly, there was some reference to this in the movie "What the bleep?" It was suggested that the American Indians were unable to see the ships that first came to the shores of America because their intellect was incapable of taking the phenomena on board, much the same as lower species of animals are unable to recognise abstract or two dimensional images.
So, why shouldn't it be possible that we can't recognise either alien beings or higher intelligences that live amongst us?
Again, it's only the limits of our egos that cause us to be so arrogant, and by so being, be incapable of witnessing such phenomena, such intelligent life forms, or even such love.
After all, when our belief systems limit us to believing love extends only so far, when we encounter something more, how on Earth are we going to recognise it?
I had a conversation with a friend a few years back, who had the cynical viewpoint that some things were "too good to be true". He was a policeman, and it fitted in rather well with his overall belief system in life. People become suspicious of that which is unusual, especially when that unusual thing has no agenda but altruism. And so, they end up killing the very thing that might be their saviour. It's similar to the way a wounded animal might kill the very person who'd be saving it.
A higher intelligence understands this. And so it remains hidden until it feels safe enough to reveal itself.
So, God and the fairies come only when someone is ready to logically believe in them, and invite them into their universe.
Jesus understood this when he said on the cross "Forgive them, for they know not what they do". All he was recognising was the fear in mankind that led to his own crucifixion.
